¡pruning towards spring!

hello human being,

it is pruning season in the orchard where i live.

branches are clipped, strewn around, sometimes cut back in ways that feel harsh, so that as spring arrives, blossoms will come and then--with more thinning--healthy good-sized apples will grow (goddess willing).

as i feel into all i know i must let go of to so that i can be light enough, have enough energy, to spring into blossom and fruit, i am realizing: there is so much to prune, so much that wants simplifying.

shedding, pruning, lightening (letting go) does not always feel "good" to me. scarcity mind holds fast to things i "might" need, to "plans" i made before. clutter results: mental, material, creative.

and it is hard to receive: inspiration, abundance, energy when i hold so tightly to what i no longer want to grow.

there is a yoga mudra (a hand symbol/energy seal) called pushpaputa which means a gathering of flowers. the gesture is palms open, offering and receiving, both.

as the last moon cycle of the astrological year pulls our water bodies with it, as the last weeks of winter in the northern hemisphere pull us back so we are ready to spring,

what are you pruning?

what needs to be clipped or mourned so there is energy for healthy blossoms?

what do you hope to grow?

creative response begins tomorrow: seven weeks that will take us into spring.

if you have questions,
let me know!
